Schecter positioned the Synyster Standard as the production-line entry point into the Synyster Gates signature series, offering the core appointments of the signature platform in a bolt-on configuration built in Indonesia. It sat below the higher-tier signature models in Schecter's line while sharing the same artist-driven hardware and pickup specifications.
The guitar was built on a mahogany body with a flat top and black single-ply binding, paired with a three-piece mahogany neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods and an ebony fretboard. The Ultra Thin 'C' neck profile measured .748" at the first fret and .787" at the twelfth, running a 25.5" scale across 24 X-jumbo frets on a 16" radius board. Pearloid 'Syn' inlays ran the length of the neck, with a Death Bat inlay at the twelfth fret. The nut position was occupied by a Floyd Rose Special locking unit at 1.625" width, feeding into a Floyd Rose Special 'Hot Rod' locking tremolo bridge — a Schecter-exclusive variant — with all hardware finished in black. Both the bridge and neck positions carried Schecter Diamond Synyster Gates Signature humbuckers, controlled by a volume knob, a push-pull tone knob, and a three-way switch, all fitted with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. Schecter-branded tuners completed the headstock. The instrument shipped with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046).
Owners sourcing replacement parts — particularly Floyd Rose Special components, locking nut blocks, or compatible humbucker rings — should verify dimensions against the specific units installed, as tolerances can vary across manufacturers. A qualified guitar technician can assist with tremolo setup, neck relief adjustment via the 5/32" allen truss rod nut, and any fretwork or electronics service.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
