Schecter positioned the Synyster Custom HT as the hardtail variant of the Synyster Gates signature line, built for players seeking the stability of a fixed bridge in a guitar otherwise faithful to the full signature specification. The set-neck mahogany body pairs with a three-piece mahogany neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods, and the construction uses Schecter's Ultra Access joint for upper-fret reach.
The ebony fretboard carries 24 X-Jumbo frets on a 16" radius, with pearloid 'Syn' inlays and a Death Bat inlay at the 12th fret; Luminlay side dots provide low-light orientation. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 42mm width, and the Ultra Thin 'C' neck profile measures .748" at the first fret and .787" at the twelfth. A two-way adjustable truss rod uses a 5/32" Allen nut. Both pickup positions carry Schecter USA Synyster Gates Signature humbuckers, routed through a volume, a push-pull tone control, and a three-way switch. The Hipshot Ibby HM fixed bridge anchors the 25.5" scale, and Schecter locking tuners complete the tuning system. Hardware throughout is black; binding is black single-ply.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, Hipshot Ibby HM bridge components, or Schecter locking tuner hardware — should verify part numbers against Schecter's published documentation and consult a qualified guitar technician for fitting and setup.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
