Schecter built the Riot-5 Session LH as a left-handed five-string bass sitting within the Session tier of the Riot line, manufactured in South Korea with a bolt-on construction and a swamp ash body. The flat-top body pairs with a maple neck and maple fretboard, finished with ebony side block inlays and a 35-inch scale length suited to the extended low-end range of a five-string instrument.
The bass ran an active electronics configuration centred on a 3-band EMG active EQ, powered by an 18-volt battery system accessed via a screw-plate compartment. Pickups were an EMG 40DC at the bridge and an EMG 40J at the neck, controlled through a master volume, a blend knob, and the EQ stack — all on metal knurled knobs with set screws. The bridge was a Schecter Custom Bass unit offering both string-through-body and top-load stringing. Hardware throughout was finished in black. The neck carried a C-profile with a 12-inch fretboard radius, 24 narrow extra-jumbo frets, a 1.771-inch nut width with a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, and a 2-way adjustable truss rod accessed with a 5/32-inch Allen key. Schecter tuners completed the hardware complement. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 5-String Super Long sets (#2850, .045–.130).
