Schecter positioned the Riot-4 Session as a bolt-on construction, active-electronics bass within its lineup, built in South Korea with a swamp ash body and a maple neck and fretboard. The flat top with bevel edge body pairs with a C-profile neck and a 34-inch scale, targeting players who required a modern, low-action feel across all twenty-four frets.
The neck carries 24 narrow extra-jumbo frets on a 12-inch radius fretboard with ebony side block inlays. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.496 inches wide, and the two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed with a 5/32-inch allen key. Pickups are an EMG 35DC at the bridge and an EMG 35J at the neck, running through an 18-volt battery system. The control layout is master volume, blend, and a three-band EMG active EQ, with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. All hardware is finished in black. The Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepts both string-through-body and top-load stringing. Schecter tuners and a set of Ernie Ball 4 String Super Long strings (.045–.105) completed the factory specification.
