Schecter built the Stiletto Studio-6 FL as a six-string fretless electric bass within the Stiletto Studio series, positioning it as a professional-grade instrument with a neck-through construction and active electronics. The fretless configuration, paired with lined fretboard inlays, served players who required the expressive pitch articulation of a fretless instrument without abandoning visual reference markers.
The bass features a mahogany body capped with a bubinga top and a flat top contour, finished in Honey Satin. The neck is a multi-ply maple and walnut construction reinforced with carbon fiber rods and runs neck-through the body with Ultra Access. Dual two-way adjustable truss rods provide neck geometry control via a 5/32" Allen nut. The 35" scale rosewood fretboard carries a 16" radius and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 2.125" width. Hardware is finished in satin gold throughout, including the Diamond Custom Bass bridge and metal knurled knobs with set screws. Both pickup positions carry EMG 45HZ humbuckers wired into an 18-volt active circuit with master volume, blend, and a 3-band EMG active EQ. Schecter tuners and Ernie Ball 6-string flatwound strings completed the factory specification.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, EMG 45-series pickups, and Diamond Custom Bass bridge each have established replacement and aftermarket ecosystems; a qualified bass technician can advise on compatible substitutes and assist with truss rod adjustment or fretless setup.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
