Schecter built the Stiletto Studio-4 FL LH as a left-handed, fretless variant within the Stiletto Studio bass line, positioned as a professional-grade instrument with neck-through construction and active electronics. The South Korean-built bass carried a Honey Satin finish over a mahogany body capped with a bubinga top, with a neck-through-body joint featuring Schecter's Ultra Access heel treatment for upper-register reach.
The multi-ply maple and walnut neck runs through the full length of the body and carries a rosewood fretboard with lined fretless markers and a 16" radius — a notably flat radius suited to the low action typically preferred on fretless instruments. The Thin 'C' profile measures .787" at the first position and .866" at the twelfth, kept consistent with Schecter's slim bass neck standard. Graph Tech XL Black Tusq fills the nut slot at 1.496" width. Two EMG 35HZ pickups feed an 18-volt active circuit with a three-band EMG EQ, controlled via master volume, blend, and the three EQ knobs — all metal knurled with set screws. Hardware throughout is finished in satin gold, including the Diamond Custom Bass bridge and Schecter tuners. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 4-string flatwound strings (#2808), a conventional choice for fretless electric bass. A universal bass case was available separately.
Owners requiring setup work, truss rod adjustment — which uses a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key — or fretless fingerboard maintenance should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier experienced with fretless bass instruments.
