Schecter built the Stiletto Studio-5 FL LH as a fretless, left-handed five-string bass positioned within the Stiletto Studio series, constructed with a neck-through body design featuring Ultra Access. The instrument was finished in Honey Satin and produced in South Korea.
The bass was built around a mahogany body with a bubinga top and a flat top contour. The multi-ply maple and walnut neck ran through the body and carried a rosewood fretboard with fretless lines serving as position markers in place of conventional frets. The fretboard radius measured 16" (406mm), the nut width 1.771" (45mm), and the scale length 35" (889mm). A Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut seated the strings, which Schecter specified as Ernie Ball 5-string flatwound #2810. Two EMG 40HZ pickups — one at the bridge position, one at the neck — fed into a master volume, blend, and 3-band EMG active EQ control layout. The 18-volt battery compartment is secured with a screw plate. Hardware throughout was finished in satin gold, including the Diamond Custom Bass bridge, metal knurled knobs with set screws, and Schecter tuners. The truss rod is a 2-way adjustable unit accessed with a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key.
