Schecter positioned the Stiletto Studio-8 as an eight-string extended-range bass within the Stiletto Studio line, built around a neck-through construction with Ultra Access and a mahogany body topped with bubinga. The instrument was manufactured in South Korea.
The multi-ply maple and walnut neck runs through the body and carries a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 16" (406mm) radius, and abalone offset dot inlays. The Thin 'C' profile measures .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. The 34" (863mm) scale pairs with a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.574" (40mm) width. A 2-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. Both pickup positions carry EMG 35HZ humbuckers wired into an 18-volt active circuit with a Master Volume, Blend, and 3-Band EMG active EQ. The Diamond Custom Bass bridge, Schecter tuners, and metal knurled knobs with set screws are finished in satin gold. Strings fitted were Ernie Ball 6 String Super Long (.032–.130).
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, EMG 35-series pickups, or the 18-volt battery compartment hardware — should consult a qualified bass technician or luthier to confirm fit and correct setup for the neck-through construction.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
