Schecter positioned the Stiletto Studio-5 as a dedicated five-string electric bass within its Stiletto Studio series, built in South Korea. The instrument was constructed with a neck-through-body configuration featuring Ultra Access, placing it among Schecter's more refined bass offerings of the period.
The multi-ply Maple/Walnut neck ran through a Mahogany body capped with a Bubinga top in a flat-top contour, finished in Honey Satin. The 35-inch scale — common to extended-range bass designs — was paired with 24 X-Jumbo frets on a Rosewood fretboard with a 16-inch radius and Abalone Offset Dot inlays. Nut duties were handled by a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.771 inches wide, feeding into Schecter tuners finished in Satin Gold. Both pickup positions carried an EMG 40HZ humbucker, driven by an 18-volt active circuit with EMG's three-band E/Q. Controls comprised a master volume, a blend pot, and the three-band EQ, operated via metal knurled knobs with set screws. The Diamond Custom Bass bridge and a two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32-inch Allen nut completed the hardware complement. Schecter specified Ernie Ball 5 String Super Long #2850 (.045–.130) as the factory string set.
