Description

Schecter positioned the Stiletto Studio-4 as a premium entry in its Stiletto bass line, built around a neck-through construction with Ultra Access and a Bubinga top over a Mahogany body. The instrument was finished in Honey Satin and carried a Satin Gold hardware suite throughout.

The multi-ply Maple/Walnut neck runs the full length of the body and carries a 34-inch scale on a 16-inch radius Rosewood fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets and Abalone Offset Dot inlays. Nut duties fall to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.496 inches wide, and the Thin 'C' profile measures .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. Electronics consist of a pair of EMG 35HZ pickups routed through a Master Volume, Blend, and 3-Band EMG Active EQ arrangement powered by an 18-volt battery compartment with screw plate. The Diamond Custom Bass bridge and Schecter tuners complete the hardware complement, with Metal Knurled knobs secured by set screws. The two-way adjustable truss rod takes a 5/32-inch Allen key.

Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, EMG 35-series pickups, and Diamond Custom Bass bridge all follow their respective manufacturers' standard dimensions — a qualified guitar technician can confirm compatibility with any direct replacements during a setup evaluation.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
