Schecter built the Stiletto Studio-4 as a neck-through bass positioned in the mid-to-upper tier of the Stiletto line, offering active electronics and figured top appointments alongside a construction method typically associated with higher-end instruments. The bass featured a mahogany body with a flamed maple top and a multi-ply maple/walnut neck running through the body with Ultra Access heel shaping. The rosewood fretboard carried 24 X-Jumbo frets over a 34-inch scale and a 16-inch radius, with a 1.496-inch nut width at the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut — dimensions that suit players accustomed to a moderately wide string spacing. The Thin 'C' neck profile measured .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. Both pickup positions used EMG 35HZ humbuckers, fed into a Master Volume, Blend, and 3-Band EMG Active EQ circuit running on an 18-volt battery housed behind a screw-plate compartment. Hardware throughout was finished in black chrome, including the Diamond Custom Bass bridge and metal knurled knobs with set screws. Abalone offset dot inlays and a See-Thru Black Satin finish completed the specification.
