Schecter built the dUg Pinnick Baron-H LH as a signature bass for King's X frontman dUg Pinnick, positioning it as a left-handed, extended-scale instrument within the artist signature tier of its bass line. The bolt-on construction and single active pickup configuration reflect a deliberately stripped-back approach suited to the player's style.
The mahogany body is paired with a maple neck finished in a Thin 'C' profile — measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth — and a rosewood fretboard carrying 22 X-Jumbo frets at a 16" radius. The 35" scale length is served by a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.496" width and a 2-way adjustable truss rod accessed via a 5/32" Allen nut. Electronics consist of a single Seymour Duncan Pro Active APB-1 bridge pickup drawing from an onboard 9-volt clip-in battery, controlled by a single volume knob with a metal knurled set-screw cap. Hardware throughout is chrome, anchored by a WSC THD4 Bass Bridge and Grover Vintage Bass 142 Series tuners. Creme 1-ply binding and creme dot inlays with a dUg signature marker at the 12th fret complete the Gloss Black presentation. The instrument was strung from the factory with Ernie Ball 4 String Super Long #2849 (.045–.105).
