Schecter built the Dale Stewart Bass as a signature instrument within its electric bass line, positioning it as a feature-laden set-neck model aimed at players requiring extended range and active electronics. The bass was manufactured in South Korea and finished in Gloss Black.
The mahogany body carries a cream 1-ply binding and an arched top contour, paired with a three-piece maple neck in a Thin 'C' profile — measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth — joined to the body via Set-Neck construction with Ultra Access. The rosewood fretboard runs 16" radius across 24 X-Jumbo frets, inlaid with Tribal Bugs and a Dragon at the 12th fret, and is seated at a 34" scale length. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measures 1.496" wide. A 2-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32" Allen nut provides neck relief adjustment. Hardware throughout is finished in black: Schecter tuners, a Hipshot 'A' Style bridge with string-through-body or top-load stringing options, and metal knurled knobs with set screws. Pickups are a pair of EMG 35HZ humbuckers routed through a master volume, blend control, and 2-band EMG active EQ powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long #2849 (.045–.105).
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Hipshot 'A' Style bridge saddles, EMG 35-series pickup covers, or Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut blanks — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier for fit confirmation and setup.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
