Schecter built the Stiletto Custom-5 LH as a left-handed five-string electric bass within its Stiletto Custom series, positioned as a feature-forward instrument in the mid-to-upper tier of the Stiletto range. The Country of Origin is Indonesia. Its 35-inch scale and active electronics placed it squarely in the territory of extended-range bass players requiring additional low-end tension and clarity.
The neck is a multi-ply Maple/Walnut construction with a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth, bolted to the Mahogany body via a 6-bolt joint. The top is Flamed Maple with a Walnut layer over a Flat Top contour. The 24 X-Jumbo frets sit on a Rosewood fretboard with a 16-inch radius and Pearloid Offset Dot inlays; the nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 1.771 inches wide. Both pickup positions carry EMG 40HZ humbuckers, fed into a Master Volume/Blend/2-Band EMG Active EQ circuit drawing from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Hardware throughout is finished in Satin Gold, including the S-Tek bridge and Schecter tuners. The instrument was strung from the factory with Ernie Ball 5-String Super Long #2850 (.045–.130) strings, suited to the 35-inch scale.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including EMG 40-series pickups, Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nuts, or S-Tek bridge components — should verify compatibility against the specific dimensions listed above. For setup, truss rod adjustment, or parts installation, consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
