Schecter positioned the Stiletto Custom-4 as a mid-tier four-string bass within its Stiletto series, built in Indonesia with a bolt-on neck construction secured by six bolts. The instrument was designed around an active electronics platform aimed at players seeking tonal flexibility in a production-line instrument.
The body is mahogany with a flamed maple top incorporating a walnut accent, finished here in Natural Satin. The multi-ply maple and walnut neck runs a 34-inch scale with a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. The rosewood fretboard carries 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 16-inch radius, with pearloid offset dot inlays and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.496 inches wide. Hardware is finished in satin gold throughout, including the S-Tek bridge and Schecter tuners. Both pickup positions are loaded with EMG 35HZ humbuckers, routed through a master volume, blend control, and a 2-band EMG active EQ. A dedicated 9-volt clip-in battery compartment serves the active circuit. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long strings (.045–.105).
