Schecter positioned the Stiletto Custom-5 as a dedicated five-string bass within its Stiletto series, built in Indonesia to a 35-inch extended scale intended to preserve string tension and clarity in the lower register. Construction followed a 6-bolt neck-through-body approach with a maple and walnut multi-ply neck, and the mahogany body carried a flamed maple top with walnut accent. The finish shown was Natural Satin.
The neck carried a thin 'C' profile measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth, with a 16-inch radius rosewood fretboard, 24 X-jumbo frets, and pearloid offset dot inlays. The 1.771-inch nut width used a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, and a 2-way adjustable truss rod provided neck relief adjustment via a 5/32-inch Allen nut. Both bridge and neck positions housed EMG 40HZ pickups, driven through an active 2-band EMG EQ circuit. Controls comprised a master volume, a blend, and the EQ section, all on metal knurled knobs with set screws. Hardware throughout was finished in satin gold. The S-Tek bridge, Schecter tuners, and a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment completed the specification. Strings were factory-fitted with Ernie Ball 5-String Super Long #2850 gauged .045–.130.
