Schecter built the Stiletto Extreme-4 as an active four-string bass positioned in the mid-tier of their Stiletto bass line, manufactured in Indonesia with a bolt-on construction and a quilted maple top over a mahogany body. The instrument was designed around an aggressive modern aesthetic, with Black Cherry finish and black chrome hardware throughout.
The bass featured a maple neck in a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, bolted to a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets and a 16" radius. The 34" scale ran to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.496" width. Pearloid and abalone vector inlays marked the positions. Electronics consisted of two Schecter Diamond Bass pickups — one at the bridge, one at the neck — fed through a master volume, blend control, and active 2-band EQ, powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The Diamond Bass bridge anchored the stringing, and Schecter tuners handled tension on Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long .045–.105 strings. Hardware carried a black chrome finish, knobs were metal knurled with set screws, and body binding was creme 1-ply. The top contour was flat.
