Description

Schecter positioned the Omen Extreme-4 as a mid-range four-string electric bass within its Omen Extreme series, built in Indonesia and designed to deliver active-pickup performance at an accessible tier of the line. The instrument carries a mahogany body with a flamed maple arched top, bound in creme multi-ply binding, and a maple neck attached via a 6-bolt bolt-on joint.

The 34-inch scale neck features a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-jumbo frets, a 16-inch radius, and abalone and pearloid vector inlays. The profile is a thin 'C' shape, measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 1.496 inches wide, and the truss rod is a two-way adjustable unit accessed with a 5/32-inch Allen key. Schecter-branded tuners and a Diamond Bass bridge handle tuning stability and string anchoring. Both the bridge and neck positions carry Schecter Diamond Bass pickups wired to a single volume control with metal knurled knobs; the active circuit draws from a 9-volt battery housed in a dedicated clip-in compartment. All hardware is finished in black chrome. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long strings (.045–.105, part number 2849).

Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, Diamond Bass bridge saddles, or compatible 9-volt battery clips — should cross-reference Schecter's original part numbers and consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier for setup and installation work.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
