Schecter built the Kenny Hickey C-1 EX S LH as a signature model, positioned within the C-1 family and configured for left-handed players. The instrument shipped in a Steele Green finish and was manufactured in South Korea. Its extended 26.5-inch baritone scale length defined its place in the line, setting it apart from standard C-1 variants and making it suited to lower tunings.
The body and three-piece neck are both mahogany, joined by a set-neck construction with Ultra Access. The arched top is bound in black multi-ply binding. The rosewood fretboard carries 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 14-inch radius, with green block inlays, and is fitted with a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.653 inches wide. The Thin 'C' neck profile measures .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. Tuning is handled by Grover tuners, and the truss rod is a two-way adjustable unit adjusted via a 5/32-inch Allen nut. The TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic bridge runs string-through-body. A Seymour Duncan JB SH-4B occupies the bridge position; the neck position carries a Sustainiac pickup controlled by a dedicated two-way on/off switch and a three-way mode switch selecting between Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes. A kill switch and standard volume, tone, and three-way pickup selector complete the control layout. All hardware is finished in black chrome, with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. The instrument requires a 9-volt battery for the Sustainiac system, housed in a clip-in compartment. Schecter shipped the guitar strung with Ernie Ball Baritone Not Even Slinky strings (.012–.056).
Owners requiring setup adjustments, fret work, or Sustainiac servicing should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with active electronics and extended-scale instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
