Schecter built the Nick Johnston Traditional H/S/S LH as a left-handed entry in its artist signature series, positioning the model for players who favoured a traditional H/S/S layout with modern playability refinements. The instrument carried Nick Johnston's name and was constructed with a bolt-on neck joint and an alder body finished in Atomic Green with a flat top contour.
The roasted maple neck carried an ebony fretboard with brass circle inlays, a 14-inch radius, and 22 X-Jumbo frets. The Thin 'C' profile measured .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth, with a 1.653-inch nut width accommodated by a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. A 2-way adjustable truss rod was accessible via a heel-mounted spoke wheel. The 25.5-inch scale Diamond Vintage Tremolo bridge paired with Schecter locking tuners and chrome hardware throughout. Pickup configuration placed a Schecter Diamond '78 humbucker at the bridge alongside two Schecter Diamond Nick Johnston single-coil units at the middle and neck positions, controlled by a volume knob, a push-pull tone knob, and a 5-way switch. The guitar left the factory strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings.
