Schecter built the PT Fastback as a hardtail, bolt-on electric guitar positioned within its Diamond Series line. The model carried the classic PT platform — a flat-top, single-pickup-per-position layout governed by a 3-way switch — and was manufactured in Indonesia.
The alder body is bound in black 1-ply and finished in Olympic White with chrome hardware throughout. The bolt-on maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile (.787" at the first fret, .866" at the twelfth) and a maple fretboard with block inlays, a 14" radius, and 22 X-Jumbo frets. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 1.653" (42mm) wide, seated above a 25.5" (648mm) scale. A 2-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. Grover tuners handle the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (.010–.046) string set. The Diamond Hardtail bridge anchors the strings, with a Schecter Diamond UltraTron pickup at both the bridge and neck positions. Controls run to two volume knobs, two push-pull tone knobs, and a 3-way switch, all fitted with bell knobs. A universal case was sold separately.
