Schecter built the Johnny Christ LH as a signature bass for Avenged Sevenfold bassist Johnny Christ, positioned as a left-handed variant within the signature series. The instrument shipped in Satin Black and was manufactured in South Korea using a bolt-on construction over an ash body with a maple neck.
The neck carries an ebony fretboard with 21 narrow extra-jumbo frets at a 12" radius, a 34" scale, and a 42mm Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. Neck thickness measures .866" at the first fret and .925" at the twelfth. Gold Bone Cross inlays run the length of the board, with a Deathbat marker at the 12th fret. The electronics pair an EMG MMCS bridge pickup with an EMG 81 at the neck, governed by a master volume, blend, and 2-band EMG active EQ; a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers the active circuit. The Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepts both string-through-body and top-load stringing. Hardware throughout is gold, including metal knurled knobs with set screws and Grover tuners. The instrument ships strung with Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long .045–.105 strings.
