Schecter positioned the Omen-4 as an entry-level four-string electric bass within its Omen series, manufactured in Indonesia. The instrument was built around a basswood body with an arched top and ivory single-ply binding, paired with a bolt-on maple neck secured by six bolts.
The neck carries a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 16" (406mm) radius, and pearloid semi-goth inlays. The thin 'C' neck profile measures .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, tapering to a 1.496" (38mm) Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. A two-way adjustable truss rod is accessible via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. Both the bridge and neck positions carry Schecter Diamond Bass active pickups — the 9-volt clip-in battery compartment serves those active electronics — routed through a single volume control with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. The Diamond Bass bridge, black chrome hardware, and Schecter tuners complete the platform. Schecter specified Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long strings (.045–.105, part #2849) at the factory. Scale length is 34" (863mm).
