Schecter positioned the Omen-7 as an entry-level seven-string electric guitar within its Omen series, manufactured in Indonesia. It carried item number 2066 and was offered in a Gloss Black finish with black chrome hardware throughout.
The guitar was built on a basswood body with an arched top and ivory single-ply binding, joined to a maple neck via bolt-on construction. The rosewood fretboard ran a 26.5" (673mm) baritone-extended scale with 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 16" (406mm) radius, and Pearloid Semi-Goth inlays. The nut was a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.889" (48mm) wide — the wider dimension accounting for the seven-string spread. The Thin 'C' neck profile measured .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. A two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut provided neck relief adjustment. String anchoring was handled by a Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge with string-through-body routing. Electronics consisted of two Schecter Diamond Plus pickups — one at the bridge, one at the neck — governed by a volume control, a tone control, and a three-way switch, with metal knurled set-screw knobs. Schecter-branded tuners completed the headstock. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 strings (#2621, .010–.056).
