Schecter positioned the Omen Extreme-FR within its Omen line as a double-humbucker, Floyd Rose-equipped electric guitar built on a bolt-on construction and manufactured in Indonesia. The Extreme designation indicated the addition of a quilted maple top and arched top contour over the mahogany body, differentiating it from the standard Omen configuration.
The maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, and is fitted with a rosewood fretboard featuring 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 14" radius. Abalone and pearloid vector inlays mark the positions. A Floyd Rose Special tremolo system serves as both bridge and locking nut (1.625" width), with black chrome hardware throughout. The headstock carries Schecter-branded tuners. Electronics consist of two Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers routed through a Volume/Volume/Tone(Push-Pull)/3-Way Switch layout, with the push-pull tone control providing an additional switching function. Metal knurled knobs with set screws secure the control positions. Creme multi-ply binding finishes the body edges, and the guitar was strung from the factory with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings.
Owners requiring Floyd Rose Special replacement parts, nut blocks, or saddle components should consult a qualified guitar technician for fit confirmation, as Floyd Rose Special components follow their own tolerances distinct from the original Floyd Rose specification.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
