Schecter positioned the Omen Extreme-FR as a high-output, tremolo-equipped entry in the Omen Extreme series, built on a bolt-on construction with a mahogany body and a quilted maple arched top finished in Vintage Sunburst. The Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo system defined the instrument's purpose, catering to players who required stable pitch articulation across a wide range of playing techniques.
The maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, joined to a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 14" radius and a 25.5" scale length. The Floyd Rose Special nut locks the strings at 1.625" width. Abalone and pearloid vector inlays mark the positions, and creme multi-ply binding edges the fretboard. Both pickup positions use Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers, routed through a Volume/Volume/Tone (push-pull)/3-Way Switch control layout with metal knurled knobs. All hardware is finished in black chrome. The two-way adjustable truss rod accepts a 5/32" Allen key at the nut. Schecter-branded tuners complete the headstock. The instrument was built in Indonesia and ships right-handed only.
Owners requiring setup work, Floyd Rose restringing guidance, or compatible replacement parts for the Floyd Rose Special bridge and nut system should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
