Schecter built the Omen Extreme-FR LH as a left-handed entry in its Omen Extreme series, positioning it as a bolt-on, double-locking tremolo instrument constructed in Indonesia. The model paired an arched quilted maple top over a mahogany body with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard, and was finished in Black Cherry with cream multi-ply binding and black chrome hardware throughout.
The neck carried a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, with a 14" (355mm) radius fretboard, 24 X-Jumbo frets, and abalone and pearloid Vector inlays. A Floyd Rose Special bridge and locking nut handled tuning stability, supported by Schecter tuners. Electronics consisted of two Schecter Diamond Plus pickups routed through a volume/volume/tone (push-pull) layout with a 3-way switch and metal knurled knobs. The factory string complement was Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.
Owners working on this instrument should note that the Floyd Rose Special bridge and nut accept parts dimensioned to Floyd Rose Special tolerances; the 2-way truss rod is adjusted via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen wrench at the nut. For setup, fretwork, or parts sourcing, consulting a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems is advisable.
