Schecter positioned the Omen Extreme-6 within its Omen Extreme series as a bolt-on electric guitar built around a mahogany body with a quilted maple arched top, manufactured in Indonesia. The See-Thru Black finish allowed the quilted maple figuring to remain visible through the colour. Creme multi-ply binding framed the body edges.
The maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, and is fitted with a 25.5" (648mm) scale rosewood fretboard. That fretboard runs 24 X-Jumbo frets over a 14" (355mm) radius, with abalone and pearloid vector inlays and a 1.653" (42mm) Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at the headstock. The two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" (4mm) allen nut. Hardware throughout is black chrome. A Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body anchoring pairs with Schecter Diamond Plus pickups at both the bridge and neck positions. The control layout offers Volume, Volume, a push-pull Tone, and a 3-way pickup selector switch, with metal knurled set-screw knobs. Schecter tuners hold the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (.010–.046) string set that shipped with the instrument.
