Schecter positioned the Omen Extreme-7 as a seven-string extended-range instrument within its Omen Extreme line, built for players requiring the additional low string that the standard six-string configuration does not provide. The guitar was constructed with a bolt-on neck joint and an arched quilted maple top over a mahogany body, with cream multi-ply binding framing the top.
The maple neck carried a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, with a 26.5" (673mm) baritone-range scale length suited to the seven-string format. The rosewood fretboard ran 24 X-Jumbo frets across a 16" radius, with abalone and pearloid vector inlays and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.889" width. A 2-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32" Allen nut allowed neck relief correction from either end. Hardware throughout was finished in black chrome, including the Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body anchoring, Schecter tuners, and metal knurled set-screw knobs. Both pickup positions carried Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers, routed through a volume/volume/tone arrangement; the tone control was fitted as a push-pull pot, with a 3-way selector switch governing pickup selection. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 strings (.010–.056). The SGR-1C case was sold separately.
Owners sourcing replacement components should note that the Tune-O-Matic bridge accepts standard TOM-format saddles and posts, and the 48mm nut width is relevant when selecting a replacement Graph Tech or equivalent blank. A qualified guitar technician can advise on string-through ferrule compatibility, push-pull pot replacement, and truss rod adjustment specific to this neck profile.
