Schecter positioned the Hellraiser Extreme-5 (item 1918) as a high-specification five-string electric bass within its Hellraiser Extreme line, built in South Korea with a neck-through construction featuring Ultra Access. The instrument carried a mahogany body with a quilted maple top and a multi-ply maple/walnut neck, placing it toward the upper tier of Schecter's production bass offerings.
The neck runs through the body with 24 X-jumbo frets on an ebony fretboard, a 35-inch scale, and a 16-inch radius — dimensions oriented toward low-tension playability across the extended range. The Thin 'C' profile measures .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut is cut to 1.771 inches to accommodate the five-string spacing. Both pickup positions carry EMG 40TW units, fed into an active EMG 3-band EQ controlled by two push-pull volume knobs; the 18-volt battery system is accessed via a screw-plate compartment. Hardware throughout is finished in black chrome, and the Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepts either string-through-body or top-load stringing. MOP Gothic Cross inlays run the ebony board, and the body binding is mother-of-pearl with a black/white/black multi-ply accent. Grover tuners are fitted at the headstock. The instrument shipped with Ernie Ball 5 String Super Long strings (.045–.130).
