Schecter positioned the Hellraiser Extreme-4 as a high-specification neck-through bass within its Hellraiser Extreme series, built to deliver active performance features and premium hardware in a four-string configuration. Construction follows a neck-thru with Ultra Access joint, pairing a Maple/Walnut multi-ply neck with a Mahogany body and a Quilted Maple arched top. The guitar was finished in See-Thru Black Satin and manufactured in South Korea.
The 34-inch scale neck carries an Ebony fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 16-inch radius, and MOP Gothic Cross inlays. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measures 1.496 inches wide. Both pickup positions are loaded with EMG 35TW humbuckers wired to an active EMG 3-Band EQ; each volume control is a push-pull pot, and the system runs on an 18-volt supply accessed via a screw-plate battery compartment. The Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepts either string-through-body or top-load stringing. Grover tuners and Black Chrome hardware throughout are complemented by MOP binding with Black/White/Black multi-ply trim. Factory strings were Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long #2849 (.045–.105).
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the EMG 35TW pickups, Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, or Grover tuners — should verify fit against the measurements listed in this record. For setup, nut work, or truss rod adjustment, consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with neck-through instruments and active electronics.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
