Schecter positioned the Hellraiser C-7 FR S (item 1830) as a high-specification seven-string electric guitar built for extended-range playing. It was constructed with a set-neck joint featuring Ultra Access heel contouring, mated to a mahogany body with an arched top. Grey pearloid binding with black/white/black multi-ply trim ran the body perimeter, and grey pearloid Gothic Cross inlays marked the rosewood fretboard.
The three-piece mahogany neck carried a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, with 24 X-Jumbo frets over a 16" radius board and a 26.5" baritone scale. A Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge and Floyd Rose locking nut handled tuning stability, supported by Grover tuners. The hardware was finished in black chrome throughout. The control layout was notably complex: a standard Volume/Tone pair was joined by an Intensity knob, a three-way pickup selector, a two-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a three-way Sustainiac mode switch cycling through Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes. The bridge position carried an EMG 81-7, while the neck position housed a Sustainiac driver pickup. Power for the active electronics was supplied by a double 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 (.010–.056).
