Schecter positioned the Hellraiser C-1 FR as a high-output, feature-laden instrument within the Hellraiser series, built for players requiring an active-pickup configuration paired with a locking vibrato system. The guitar was manufactured in South Korea and constructed using a set-neck joint with Ultra Access — a heel-shaping approach Schecter employed to ease upper-fret reach. The body and neck were both built from mahogany, and the top carries an arched contour. Grey pearloid binding with black/white/black multi-ply trim and gothic cross inlays defined the Hellraiser series' visual identity on this model.
The 25.5" scale neck is a three-piece mahogany unit with a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The 24 X-Jumbo frets sit on a rosewood fretboard radiused at 14", and Grover tuners were fitted at the headstock. The bridge is a Floyd Rose 1000 Series unit with a Floyd Rose locking nut (1.625" width), and all hardware is finished in black chrome. Pickups are an EMG 81TW at the bridge and an EMG 89R at the neck — both push-pull controls on the volume pots allow the player to access the pickups' split-coil voices. A dedicated 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers the active electronics. The instrument ships strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (.010–.046).
