Schecter built the Hellraiser C-1 FR as part of its Hellraiser series, positioning it as a high-output, feature-laden electric guitar within the line. The model was manufactured in South Korea and configured for right-handed players. Its set-neck construction with Ultra Access was designed to facilitate reach to the upper register of the 24-fret neck.
The mahogany body carries an arched top and is bound with abalone alongside black/white/black multi-ply binding. The three-piece mahogany neck is shaped to a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, and is fitted with a rosewood fretboard radiused at 14" (355mm). Abalone Gothic Cross inlays run the length of the board. The Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge is paired with a Floyd Rose locking nut at 1.625" (41.3mm) width, and Grover tuners are fitted to the headstock; all hardware is finished in black chrome. The electronics consist of an EMG 81TW at the bridge and an EMG 89R at the neck, each routed through a push-pull volume control that allows coil-splitting, alongside a single tone control and a 3-way selector switch. The instrument requires a 9-volt battery, housed in a clip-in compartment. Factory strings were Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (.010–.046).
