Schecter positioned the Hellraiser C-1 FR S (item 1826) in its Hellraiser series as a high-specification electric guitar built around an active pickup system with an integrated sustain device. The instrument was manufactured in South Korea with a set-neck construction featuring Ultra Access joint geometry, a mahogany body with a quilted maple arched top, and a three-piece mahogany neck.
The neck carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, with a 14" (355mm) radius rosewood fretboard fitted with 24 X-Jumbo frets and abalone Gothic Cross inlays. Abalone binding with black/white/black multi-ply surrounds the body. At the headstock, Grover tuners are fitted; at the nut end, a Floyd Rose locking nut (1.625" / 41.3mm width) pairs with a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge, finished in black chrome along with all other hardware. Electronics centre on an EMG 81 bridge pickup and a Sustainiac neck pickup driven by a double 9-volt clip-in battery compartment; the control layout includes volume, tone, intensity, a 3-way pickup switch, a 2-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a 3-way Sustainiac mode switch (Fundamental, Mix, Harmonic). Metal knurled knobs with set screws are fitted throughout. The instrument was strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (.010–.046) strings and the case (SGR-1C) was sold separately.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Floyd Rose 1000 Series components, EMG 81 mounting hardware, Sustainiac system parts, or Grover tuner replacements — should consult a qualified guitar technician for compatibility confirmation and installation.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
