Schecter positioned the Hellraiser C-8 FR (item 1824) as an extended-range instrument within the Hellraiser series, built around an eight-string configuration on a 28-inch scale. Construction followed a set-neck format with Ultra Access heel shaping, and the body was mahogany with a quilted maple arched top. The finish shown is Black Cherry, with abalone and black/white/black multi-ply binding at the body edges.
The three-piece mahogany neck incorporates carbon fiber reinforcement rods and a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The 24-fret rosewood fingerboard runs a 16" radius and carries abalone Gothic Cross inlays; the nut is Floyd Rose spec at 2.125" width. Locking tremolo duties fall to a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge, tuners are Grover, and all hardware is finished in black chrome. Both pickup positions carry EMG 808 active humbuckers wired to a volume/volume/tone layout with a three-way switch; a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment serves the active electronics. The factory string set was Ernie Ball 8-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom #2624 (.009/.012/.016/.026/.036/.046/.064/.080). The SGR-1C case was sold separately.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — Floyd Rose 1000 Series components, EMG 808 pickup hardware, or Grover tuner buttons — should confirm measurements against their specific instrument before ordering, and consult a qualified guitar technician for setup or intonation work on the Floyd Rose system.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
