Schecter positioned the Hellraiser C-8 (item 103) as an extended-range instrument within its Hellraiser series, built around an eight-string configuration and a 28-inch scale length designed to accommodate the demands of low-register tunings. The guitar was constructed with a set-neck joint featuring Ultra Access heel shaping, and the neck itself was a three-piece mahogany shaft reinforced with carbon fiber rods and profiled to a Thin 'C' contour. Country of origin was South Korea.
The body was mahogany, capped with a quilted maple arched top and bound in abalone with black/white/black multi-ply purfling. Fretwork consisted of 24 X-Jumbo frets on a rosewood board with a 16-inch radius; abalone Gothic Cross inlays marked the positions. The nut was a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 2.125 inches wide, feeding into Schecter locking tuners. Both pickup positions carried EMG 808 humbuckers wired to a volume/volume/tone layout with a three-way switch; the active circuit ran on a 9-volt battery accessed through a dedicated clip-in compartment. Hardware throughout was finished in black chrome. The bridge was a Hipshot hardtail with string-through-body anchoring. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball 8-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom (.009–.080) and was sold without a case, though the SGR-1C case was listed as a separate accessory.
