Schecter built the Synyster Custom-S LH as the left-handed variant of the Synyster Gates signature series, positioning it as a high-specification electric guitar aimed at players requiring the full feature set of the signature line in a left-handed configuration. It sat within Schecter's artist signature tier and carried the Sustainiac-equipped 'S' designation that distinguished it from the standard Custom model.
The guitar was constructed with a mahogany body and a three-piece mahogany neck joined via a set-neck joint with Ultra Access heel shaping, reinforced internally with carbon fiber rods. The 24-fret ebony fretboard ran a 16" radius across a 25.5" scale, with an Ultra Thin 'C' profile measuring .748" at the first fret and .787" at the twelfth. Fret work used X-Jumbo sizing. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking system handled both nut and bridge duties, with a 1.625" nut width. The neck pickup was a Sustainiac driver unit with a dedicated three-way mode switch cycling through Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes, toggled by a separate two-way on-off switch; the bridge position carried a Schecter USA Synyster Gates Signature Humbucker. All hardware was finished in gold. Inlays were Gold Pearloid 'SYN' and 'Deathbat' designs, with glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. A black single-ply binding ran the body, and the body top was flat. The instrument required a 9-volt battery for the Sustainiac system, accessed via a clip-in compartment.
Owners requiring setup work, Floyd Rose 1500 Series servicing, Sustainiac system maintenance, or parts sourcing should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems and active pickup electronics.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
