Schecter built the Nick Johnston Traditional H/S/S as a signature instrument for the guitarist Nick Johnston, positioning it within the Traditional series as a bolt-on, flat-top design strung for right-handed players. Manufactured in Indonesia, the guitar carried the item number 1541 and was finished in Atomic Snow with chrome hardware throughout.
The alder body paired with a roasted maple neck, joined via bolt-on construction, and topped with an ebony fretboard. The neck followed a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, across a 14" (355mm) radius. Twenty-two X-Jumbo frets were set into the board, with brass circle inlays marking position. A Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.653" (42mm) wide fed into Schecter locking tuners, while a 2-way adjustable truss rod with heel-access spoke wheel handled neck relief. The 25.5" (648mm) scale Diamond Vintage Tremolo bridge anchored Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046). The H/S/S pickup configuration comprised a Schecter Diamond '78 humbucker at the bridge and Schecter Diamond Nick Johnston single-coil pickups at the middle and neck positions, controlled by a volume knob, a push-pull tone knob, and a 5-way switch, all dressed with vintage-style knobs.
