Schecter positioned the C-8 Multiscale Silver Mountain at the upper tier of its eight-string guitar line, offering a multiscale — or fanned-fret — platform intended for players who required extended low-end clarity alongside conventional treble-string response. The set-neck construction with Ultra Access joined a three-piece mahogany neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods to a mahogany body finished in Silver Mountain, with a single-ply black binding at the body edge and an arched top contour.
The fretboard was ebony, carrying 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets on a flat 20" radius suited to high-action extended-range playing and lead work alike. Scale length fanned from 25.5" on the treble side to 27" on the bass side. The nut was graphite at a wide 2.125" to accommodate the eight-string spread, and Schecter Locking tuners held the Ernie Ball 8-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom set (.009–.080) at tension. Both pickup positions carried Schecter USA Sonic Seducer humbuckers, routed through a Volume/Volume/Tone (push-pull)/3-Way Switch control layout; metal knurled knobs with set screws and black hardware throughout completed the electronics package. The Hipshot Hardtail bridge accepted string-through-body stringing. Side dot markers were Luminlay glow-in-the-dark material. A two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32" Allen nut provides neck relief adjustment, and the neck profile is a Thin 'C' measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth.
