Schecter positioned the C-7 FR S Silver Mountain at the performance-oriented end of its seven-string catalogue. Built in South Korea, the guitar combined a set-neck construction with an Ultra Access heel joint and a mahogany body finished with an arched top and black single-ply binding. The Silver Mountain colour treatment gave the instrument its model designation.
The three-piece mahogany neck, reinforced with carbon fibre rods, carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, topped with a 16" radius ebony fretboard bearing 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets and luminescent side dot markers. A Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking system handles both the nut and bridge, anchoring the 26.5" baritone-length scale. Pickups are a Schecter USA Sonic Seducer at the bridge and a Sustainiac driver at the neck; the control layout — volume, tone, intensity, a three-way pickup switch, a two-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a three-way Sustainiac mode switch cycling through Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic — routes through a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners and black hardware complete the specification. Factory strings are Ernie Ball seven-string gauged .009–.062.
Owners requiring Floyd Rose 1500 Series replacement parts, Sustainiac service, or fretwork on stainless steel frets should consult a guitar technician experienced with locking tremolo systems and active sustainer circuits.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
