Schecter positioned the Riot-5 LH (item 1455) as a left-handed, five-string electric bass within its Riot series, built on a bolt-on construction with a swamp ash body dressed in a burl top and finished in Aurora Burst. The instrument was strung for an extended 35-inch scale, placing it in the range favoured for drop tunings and low-B string tension.
The multi-ply maple and walnut neck incorporates carbon fiber reinforcement rods and carries a thin 'C' profile, measuring .787 inch at the first fret and .866 inch at the twelfth. The 24 X-jumbo frets sit on an ebony fretboard with a 16-inch radius and offset/reverse dot inlays. Nut duties fall to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.771 inches wide. The electronics pair an EMG 40PX-CS at the neck with an EMG 40JX-CS at the bridge, governed by a master volume, a blend control, and an EMG-B30 three-band active EQ; power comes from a clip-in 9-volt battery compartment. The Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepts either string-through or top-load stringing. Hardware throughout is finished in black, and Schecter-branded tuners handle the Ernie Ball 5-String Super Long (.045–.130) factory strings. The flat-top body features a bevel edge, and knobs are metal knurled with set screws.
