Schecter built the Riot-4 LH as a left-handed four-string electric bass within the Riot series, positioning it as a feature-rich instrument with an active electronics package and multi-laminate neck construction. The left-handed configuration (Item No. 1454) was offered in Aurora Burst finish with black hardware across a swamp ash body capped with a burl top in a flat top with bevel edge profile.
The bolt-on neck is a maple and walnut multi-ply assembly reinforced with carbon fiber rods, carrying a thin 'C' profile that measures .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The 34" scale ebony fretboard runs 24 X-jumbo frets at a 16" radius, with offset/reverse dot inlays and a 1.496" Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. Electronics are built around a pair of EMG custom-series soapbar pickups — a 35PX-CS at the neck and a 35JX-CS at the bridge — controlled through a master volume, a blend pot, and an EMG-B30 three-band active EQ. The Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepts either string-through or top-load stringing. Power is supplied by a single 9-volt battery via a clip-in compartment. Schecter tuners and metal knurled set-screw knobs complete the hardware complement. Factory strings were Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long #2849 (.045–.105).
