Schecter positioned the C-1 FR S SLS Elite at the upper tier of its C-1 series, building it around a neck-through construction with what the company called Ultra Access. The guitar was manufactured in South Korea and was configured for right-handed players. The Black Fade Burst finish was applied over a Swamp Ash body capped with a Flamed Maple top, with Ivory 1-ply binding framing the arched top contour.
The multi-ply Maple, Walnut, and Padauk neck incorporates Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Rods and carries a 25.5" (648mm) scale. The Ebony fretboard runs a 12"-16" compound radius and is fitted with 24 X-Jumbo Stainless Steel frets, Abalone Offset/Reverse Dot inlays, and Abalone side dots. Neck thickness measures .748" (19mm) at the first fret and .787" (20mm) at the twelfth, profiled as an Ultra Thin 'C'. The nut is a Floyd Rose 1500 Series unit at 1.625" (41.3mm) width, and tuning is handled by Grover Rotomatic 18:1 machines. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge pairs with a Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic Humbucker at the bridge position and a Sustainiac pickup at the neck. The control layout includes Volume, a Push-Pull Tone, a 3-way pickup selector, a 2-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a 3-way Sustainiac mode switch covering Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes. The Sustainiac and Fishman Fluence electronics are powered by a double 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. All hardware is finished in black. A case was sold separately.
