Schecter positioned the C-7 FR SLS Elite within its SLS (Super Loaded Schecter) Elite series as a high-specification seven-string guitar built around a neck-thru construction with Ultra Access, pairing a swamp ash body with a flamed maple top and an ivory single-ply binding. The 26.5" baritone scale and multi-ply maple, walnut, and padauk neck — reinforced with carbon fiber rods — were aimed at players demanding tuning stability and rigidity across the extended range.
The neck is profiled in Schecter's Ultra Thin 'C' shape, measuring .748" at the first fret and .787" at the twelfth, with a 12"–16" compound radius ebony fretboard carrying twenty-four X-jumbo stainless steel frets and abalone offset/reverse dot inlays. Abalone side dots are fitted as well. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge and locking nut handle vibrato duties, with Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners at the headstock. Electronics consist of two Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers — a ceramic-magnet unit at the bridge and an alnico-magnet unit at the neck — each wired to a volume and tone control (both push-pull) through a three-way switch, drawing power from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Hardware throughout is finished in black, and knobs are metal knurled with set screws. The instrument ships strung with Ernie Ball seven-string sets gauged .009–.062.
Owners requiring setup work, fret maintenance, or Floyd Rose 1500 Series replacement components should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with extended-range instruments and locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
