Schecter positioned the C-4 Apocalypse within its Apocalypse series as a high-specification four-string electric bass built around active J-style humbucking pickups and an extended-range feature set. The instrument carried item number 1317 and was finished in Rusty Grey with satin black hardware.
The swamp ash body features an arched top and black single-ply binding, joined to a maple and padauk multi-ply neck via set-neck construction with Ultra Access. Carbon fiber reinforcement rods run through the neck for added rigidity. The ebony fretboard carries 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets on a 16" radius, with a 34" scale length and a 1.496" nut width occupied by a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. Mother of Pearl triangle inlays mark the 12th and 24th frets; glow-in-the-dark side dot markers run the full length of the board. Grover tuners and a Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge with string-through-body stringing handle tuning stability and intonation. Both positions carry Schecter USA Apocalypse J-Bucker pickups, controlled by a master volume, master tone, three-way pickup selector, and independent three-way series/split/parallel coil-switching for each pickup. Hipshot O-Ring knobs finish the control layout. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long .045–.105 strings.
Owners requiring setup adjustments, fret work, or parts sourcing for components such as the Graph Tech nut, Grover tuners, or Schecter hardtail bridge should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with set-neck bass construction.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
