Schecter built the Sun Valley Super Shredder FR (item 1283) as a high-output, shred-oriented electric guitar, positioning it in the line around an extended 25.5" scale, active pickup electronics, and a locking tremolo system. The Satin Black finish was one of the available colour options. Construction is bolt-on, with a mahogany body and a flat-top contour.
The neck is maple with a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, and carries a maple fretboard radiused at 14" (355mm). Twenty-four X-Jumbo frets and offset/reverse dot inlays mark the playing surface. The 1.625" (41.3mm) nut is a Floyd Rose Special locking unit, paired with a Floyd Rose Special 'Hot Rod' Locking Tremolo — a Schecter-exclusive bridge variant — finished in black hardware throughout. Both the bridge and neck positions carry EMG Retro Active Hot 70 pickups, wired to a Volume/Volume/3-Way Switch arrangement with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. Power for the active circuit is supplied via a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed at the heel via a spoke wheel. Schecter-branded tuners complete the hardware set. Strings were factory-fitted with Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky #2222 (.009–.046).
