Schecter positioned the Sun Valley Super Shredder FR (item 1282) as a high-output, tremolo-equipped instrument within their Sun Valley series, built for players demanding extended range and locking vibrato performance. The guitar was manufactured in South Korea and configured for right-handed players, with a bolt-on construction joining a Maple neck to a Mahogany body.
The neck carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, topped with a Rosewood fretboard running a 14" (355mm) radius across 24 X-Jumbo frets. Offset/Reverse Dot inlays mark the positions. The 25.5" (648mm) scale runs from a Floyd Rose Special locking nut (1.625" / 41.3mm width) to a Floyd Rose Special 'Hot Rod' Locking Tremolo, a Schecter-exclusive bridge variant, with all hardware finished in black. A 2-Way Adjustable truss rod is accessed at the heel via a spoke wheel. Both the bridge and neck positions carry EMG Retro Active Hot 70 pickups, routed through a Volume/Volume/3-Way Switch control layout with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws; active electronics draw from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky .009–.046 strings. The flat-top body was finished in Gloss White. A case was sold separately (SGR-1C).
