Description

Schecter built the Sun Valley Super Shredder FR as a high-output, performance-oriented electric guitar positioned toward players requiring an aggressive tremolo-equipped instrument with active electronics. Item number 1281, finished in Lambo Orange, it was manufactured in South Korea and configured for right-handed players with a bolt-on construction.

The guitar was built around a mahogany body with a flat top contour and a maple neck in a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. The rosewood fretboard carries 24 X-Jumbo frets, offset/reverse dot inlays, a 14" (355mm) radius, and a nut width of 1.625" (41.3mm). A Floyd Rose Special locking nut pairs with the Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose Special 'Hot Rod' Locking Tremolo at the bridge. Both the bridge and neck positions are loaded with EMG Retro Active Hot 70 pickups, powered via a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Controls run to a volume/volume/3-way switch layout with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws, all finished in black hardware. The truss rod is a 2-way adjustable unit with heel-access spoke wheel. Schecter-branded tuners and Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky #2222 (.009–.046) strings completed the factory configuration.

Owners requiring setup assistance, Floyd Rose spring or saddle replacement, or fretwork on this instrument should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
