Schecter positioned the Sun Valley Super Shredder 7 III as a high-output, extended-range instrument within its Super Shredder line, built around a bolt-on maple neck and mahogany body with a quilted maple flat top. The model was produced in Indonesia and configured for right-handed players in a single finish designation, Sky Burst.
The 26.5-inch baritone scale runs across a 16-inch radius ebony fretboard fitted with 24 X-jumbo frets and offset/reverse dot inlays. Neck dimensions measure .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth in a Thin 'C' profile, with a Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking nut at 1.874 inches wide. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge handles vibrato duties, and all hardware is finished in black. The active EMG Retro Active pickup array consists of a Hot 70 humbucker at the bridge flanked by single-coil units at the middle and neck positions, routed through a Volume/Tone/5-Way Switch control layout. Power is supplied by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Schecter-branded tuners, metal knurled knobs with set screws, and a 2-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32-inch allen nut complete the specification. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 7-string gauges (.009/.011/.016/.026/.036/.046/.062). A case was sold separately (SGR-1C).
